Proconex Celebrates Pi Day
Each year national Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits of Pi. For Proconex it was more like Pi plus two hundredths day as winter storm Stella moved our Pi Day celebration from 3/14 to 3/16.
Pi Day, which also coincides with Albert Einstein’s birthday, is celebrated across the country in various ways, (many of which include pie). Here’s how Proconex celebrated:
T-Shirt Design Contest – Creativity was in high gear as t-shirt submissions poured in weeks in advance of Pi Day. The winning design was selected and shirts were produced so employees could wear them during Pi Day festivities.
The winner was Eugene Kovach, Proconex Project Engineer, who’s t-shirt design is featured below, modeled by Amanda Dunbar:
Pie Tasting – Once Pi Day arrived, the pies rolled in! There were about 9 people who submitted creations for a pie tasting contest. They were all so delicious it was hard to choose! The votes were tallied and the winner was: Lyn Harmon with her “To-Die-For Pie” – a classic butterscotch pie with spirited caramel.
At the end of the day Proconex team members connected for some social time and Pi themed spirits.
